I have practiced yoga on and off for 20 years, but it wasn't until my 40's that I pursued becoming a yoga instructor.  After a running injury, yoga provided the mobility, flexibility and strength training my body needed to heal.  But that wasn't all it gave me. It was during the diagnostic MRI for this particular injury that I realized that a busy working mom there was something else I needed.  For 30 minutes during this MRI I had to lay still. There was nothing to accomplish, no one to talk to, no one to listen to. The first few minutes were uncomfortable, but soon the rhythmic sounds of the MRI machine distracted me from my scrolling thoughts and I drifted into a deep meditation. I became acutely aware of my body and the sensations I was feeling. As the test concluded and the MRI tech asked me how I was feeling she was understandably surprised when I answered, "Great! Refreshed! That felt like a vacation!" What an eye opening experience that was! It was then that I made my yoga practice a priority.  It has helped me become in tune with my mind, my emotions and my physical body. It has brought balance (both physical and emotional) to my busy life and it has enriched my own intuitive eating journey. It is a privilege to share with and guide other women in their practice as they learn to nurture and nourish themselves the way they deserve.
